Breast Augmentation and Lift with Cosmetic DIEP Flap
(All Me Augmentation)

Throughout a woman’s life, there are many elements that can affect the appearance of her breasts. Aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, and genetics can all factor in changes to breast size and shape. Women who are bothered by sagging breasts and loss of volume may be able to restore a youthful breast shape and regain lost volume with a combined breast lift and natural breast augmentation. Houston breast surgery specialist Dr. Sean Boutros takes a unique approach to natural breast augmentation by applying reconstructive techniques to cosmetic surgery. Dr. Boutros offers cosmetic Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator (DIEP) flap surgery, also known as The All Me Augmentation, to rejuvenate breasts with your own tissue and give you the results you want without breast implants and the risks associated with them.

Breast Lift and Augmentation Without Implants

Breast augmentation increases breast size for women who have small breasts, as well as women who have experienced a change in breast size after breastfeeding or weight loss. For many women, augmentation alone is not enough to achieve their aesthetic goals. To correct sagging, drooping, or excess skin, a breast lift, also known as mastopexy, must be performed at the same time. Dr. Boutros realizes that there are many women who would like fuller breasts, but would also like to avoid breast implants. With a cosmetic DIEP Flap breast augmentation with lift, these patients can achieve increased volume and improved shape without breast implants or anything artificial placed in the body. DIEP Flap uses your own living tissue, harvested from your abdomen, to augment and reshape your breasts.

Benefits of Breast Lift and Augmentation with DIEP Flap

There are many aesthetic benefits of a breast augmentation combined with a mastopexy procedure, and patients can see further benefits when the augmentation is performed with a cosmetic DIEP Flap approach. The benefits of an augmentation with lift include fuller, more youthful-looking breasts that sit higher on the chest with improved cleavage.

However, traditional augmentation and lift involves combining mastopexy with breast implant placement, which presents an increased complication rate.1 Many surgeons will perform augmentation and lift as two separate procedures, rather than a combined procedure. Cosmetic DIEP flap augmentation eliminates many of the risks of single stage combined augmentation and lift because your own tissue is used rather than implants. Studies show that more than 15% of patients who have breast lift surgery with implants will experience complications, which can include capsular contracture or infection of the implant.2 Dr. Boutros can confidently perform lift and augmentation as a single combined procedure because there is zero chance of implant-related risks or complications.

An additional benefit of breast lift and augmentation with cosmetic DIEP flap is that your own tissue is harvested from your abdomen. This living tissue with blood vessels and blood supply intact is more effective than a simple fat transfer method. It also gives you an opportunity to remove excess fat from the abdominal area so you can enjoy a leaner midsection in addition to fuller breasts. Dr. Boutros can repair separated abdominal muscles and use liposuction to contour your waist at the same time if needed.

What to Expect From DIEP Flap Breast Augmentation with Lift

Preparing for Augmentation Mastopexy Surgery

If you are considering breast lift surgery and you would like to also have breast augmentation without implants, then the first step is a consultation appointment with Dr. Boutros. He will take the time to discuss your goals and your medical history and answer any questions you have in order to help you determine if breast lift and augmentation with cosmetic DIEP flap is right for you. If you schedule surgery, Dr. Boutros and his team will provide you with detailed pre-operative instructions. Consultations can either be done in the Houston office or online via a televisit.

Augmentation Mastopexy Surgery

Dr. Boutros performs surgery in a specialized surgical center that is optimized for DIEP flap procedures and you will be under anesthesia during surgery. Dr. Boutros will begin by removing tissue and fat from your lower abdomen. He will then remove excess skin from the breasts and add volume using your own living tissue. Your breasts will be repositioned and reshaped in accordance with your personalized treatment plan to meet your goals for a more youthful-looking appearance.

Recovery After Breast Lift and Augmentation With Cosmetic DIEP Flap

Dr. Boutros has performed thousands of DIEP flap procedures for breast reconstruction patients, and he has perfected techniques and published his findings for methods that allow patients to have a quicker and easier recovery after DIEP flap surgery.3 Patients typically stay one night in the specialized DIEP flap center before recovering at home or a nearby hotel. You can expect to resume typical activities, but with restrictions on heavy lifting, exercising, or other strenuous movement for two weeks after surgery. Patients can generally resume most regular activity approximately four to six weeks after surgery.

Dr. Boutros has pioneered advanced techniques that have been proven to allow DIEP patients a quicker and easier recovery.
